Hermione turned around at the sound of her voice. She would know that voice anywhere. She had been waiting to hear that voice for 3 years now and now here she was. She was actually surprised that Ron had come out here to 'clear things up' as he had so put it. But she masked her surprise by crossing her arms and glaring at him. She wouldn't let him feel any security once so ever even though she had already forgiven him. She had forgiven him so many times in the past and she had done it again. It was like she was always giving him second chances.
"Well what do you want?" she asked, looking down at her feet. She looked back up at him with her big brown eyes that had softened at the sight of him. She couldn't stay mad at him forever. She loved him too much but she wasn't going to admit that to him or anyone else. She was too afraid that Ron would leave her again and this time he wouldn't come back. It seemed that he had found it so easy to leave her in the first place so who couldn't say that he would do it again.
Hermione sighed, hearing his purpose. He wanted to talk about what had happened in there which would probably lead to the past. She didn't want to talk about neither but she knew that they eventually would have to. "I should never have brought him over," she started, taking a deep breath. "He wanted to come and I couldn't say no. He's well my boyfriend." Hermione hated having to explain herself.
"But that doesn't excuse your attitude in there," she told him, shaking her head. "Ron, you remember 3 years ago, the night before you left? Well I do and I can never forget about it." It still haunted her. It was a memory that she just couldn't get rid of. It was like some kind of illness that she couldn't get rid of. It was a wound that never seemed to heal.
Hermione was walking up the stairs at the Burrow, hand-in-hand with Ron. He had said he wanted to talk and Hermione was following him upstairs. She would do anything for him as they entered his room alone. They hadn't gotten a place yet and were looking to move somewhere soon. Well Hermione was going to grab a place to live while he went off to auror training. Then he could just move in with her when he came back. It had been all planned out for them and Hermione couldn't feel anymore confident about her future.
"I need to talk to you about something, 'Mione," Ron had started. He looked grave which only made her more tense and nervous. Did he find someone else? She hoped not for all her dreams would come crashing down. Everything that she had been looking forward to would be gone. "I'm going to be gone for 3 years and I don't want you to wait for me." He seemed to go quiet as Hermione started at him dumbfounded.
Finally when she gained her voice, she replied, her voicing rising higher and higher,"What!? Are you saying that you're...you're breaking up with me?" Hermione was so confuse and hurt at the same time. And she was angry too and all those emotions were hitting her like a train. She didn't know what to do. Ron seemed to wince at this and it looked like he had expected this.
"Hermione," he sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "it's for the best. You just need to move on and forget about me. I'm not worthy and I know that there is some other guy who would be more deserving. We can just be friends though." Hermione had seen him wince when he said 'just friends' and she had done the same. It was like he was using the easy way to tell her that he didn't love her anymore.
"You know thats not true, Ronald," Hermione told him, harshly. She was a furious with him for even thinking that. She had stood up on her feet and was marching for the door. She wouldn't stand for this. She turned around and looked at him one last time. He looked so lost and hurt. He looked like he was dying inside for everything he just said. But Hermione wouldn't have none of it. It was obvious that Ron didn't love her anymore and he probably wanted to be with some other bimbo like Lavendar. "Well then fine then Ronald Weasley, if thats what you want, then so be it!" She slammed the door behind her, tears streaming down her face.
She cried the whole way down the stairs and out the door. Ron didn't even tried to stop her which only made things worse. It only told her that he didn't care for her. She finally had apparated to the Leaky Cauldron since she had nowhere else to go at the moment. She rented a room there and then she moved on with her life.

Ron looked at Hermione. he may have thought about this moment a million times before while in his bed late at night while he was away but none of that mattered right now. It was all gone from him. He didn't know what to say or do or how to make her see that what he did for her wasn't because he stopped loving her but rather because he didn't want her to resent him. It seems that no matter what he did she resented him anyways. Where did he go wrong?
He noticed that her eyes had softened once she looked up at him. Anything that might give him some hope of a hope of a future together, he grabbed onto and held on tight. She was looking at her feet like she did when she was nervous or wanted to avoid something. He couldn't tell if it was him she wanted to avoid or what they were going to talk about. Either way he was glad that she was able to at least talk to him. She hadn't yelled or screamed or cried. Or worse slammed a door in his face.
Ron nodded. " Your right, but I have no right to tell you who to date anymore. You don't love me and thats all my fault. But why him? he asked bitterly. Out of all the people she could have choosen why did it have to be him? He thought he might actually like to have seen Draco with her but maybe thats because he thought that Draco and her would never be in the same room to realize that it would happen.
He crossed his arms in front of his chest. " Of course I remember Hermione, that was the biggest mistake of my life! But you still brought hiim here! You didn't have to move on! I just... nevermind it isn't worth it. You've moved on. You love Vicktor and not me." he said angrily raising his voice.
"If you think your the only one who thinks about that night then... your wrong." he said angrily. "You think I'm still this immature sthingy or whatever it is that you called me but here I am. I'm different but that doesn't matter. Enjoy your life with Vicktor but don't you dare take this out on my sister or Harry. I'll stop over for the rest of my stuff this week, if there is nothing else to talk about then I'll just go" he said and walked towards the door back in the house. He was going home. He didn't want any of this, not now. Just a bottle of firewhiskey and something to get his mind off of it all.

Hermione stared at him as he agreed wtih her. But then he went and used him for Viktor. Why couldn't he just say his name for once? she thought. Well at least you two are talking, she argued back. She couldn't be arguing with herself now. She needed to concentrate on the conversation. And she needed to answer him, to tell him the truth maybe. How could he think that she didn't love him anymore? Oh yeah, he was gone for 3 years and wasn't able to see all the tears she shed and all the bottles she drank.
Hermione shook her head. She couldn't admit to him that she was still in love with him while she was dating Viktor. "Because Ron Viktor loves me. He loves me for who I am and I know that he will never leave me," she told him, trying to keep the anger out of her voice. She could already see that they were treading in dangerous water. They were talking about Viktor for merlin's sakes and that trigger Ron off on a heartbeat if they weren't trying to be so civil. But it all ended there.
"He's my boyfriend, Ronald!" Hermione screamed back at him. "I just can't leave him behind or tell him that he can't go cause of my jealous ex. And if I may point out, I haven't moved on Ronald! That is where you're wrong." She jabbed a finger into his chest, pronoucing each word with a jab. She was pissed that Ron would think that she had moved on. She had loved this guy ever since her first year at Hogwarts even though at the time, she was too young to realize it.
She threw her hands up in the air. He was lucky that she hadn't resorted to hexing yet. "How do you know Ron? Huh? How do you know that I love him and not you?" She gave her a questiong look, crossing her arms. She looked at him, awaiting an answer. She was sure that he wouldn't get a clue though. He was too much of a stubborn git to do so.
Hermione stormed towards him, not even bothering to pull out her wand. She turned him around to say something and then noticed how close she was to him. All of her walls that she had built seem to melt away at that moment. She looked up at him, opening and closing her mouth in an attempt to say something. She just couldnt' get it out.

Ron listened to what she said about him Of course he wouldn't leave her. For Vicktor this was a chance of a life time. The lifetime that should be his and not that bon bons. His face got red as it always did when he was angry. He did not have to put up with this, was she trying to make him feel bad on purpose? It seemed so but he wasnt going to fall for it. Or at least he wasn't going to try and fall for it.
" So what if he loves you, the question is do you love him\?"He asked bitterly. Honestly Ron wasn't that daft he knew that Krum loved Hermione as much as the grunting bulgarian could at least. "That nancy pants does not love you for you! What does he honestly know about you? Oh and I bet you have great conversation now don't you?"he said angrily
The key phrase in all of this was never leaving her and he knew it. Did he really cause that much pain in his leaving her? When was she going to realize that he did that for her and nothing else. All of this.. it was for her. She never left his mind and she never would.
Ron gulped as she screamed at him. Usually she would just stand there and take it from her but no more. He yelled right back at her. " WELL MERLIN KNOWS HE SHOULDN"T BE! THAT SHOULD BE ME!" he screamed back at her. He was fired up now. " What do you mean you haven't moved on? Your with him! And what about me? I hadn't been with anyone when I was there and I will have you know that the witches quite liked me there" he said narrowing her eyes.
He didn't want to hurt her but he sure wanted her to know that he was a wanted man. Of course he was just look at him, no matter how gawky and lanky and akward he was, he was still sweet and good looking. He knew how to treat someone when he wasn;t let his stubborn side or his anger get the best of him. He backed away from her. " You lost the right to touch me or yell at me like that when you brought him here! I thought that was what this was all about. Us getting back together. Clearly I was wrong and this was a waste of time" he snorted bitterly.
"Your right I don't know. You probably do love him. At least more than you love me if you ever DID love me" he said stressing out the word did to her. How could he know anymore. He didn't. She said one thing and did another. So much for them just being friends and she never liking Vicktor more than that. after all they had been through how could she not know that he was coming back for her.
Ron turned around when he heard her storming behind him. He looked at her as she tried to get something out of her mouth but that was it. Tried. Nothing came out and Ron was on a short fuse. He wasn't one to cry but this was Hermione. He fought back tears. " Well get on with it" he said with his voice cracking slightly. It was only evident that he was about to lose it all.

George knew he was running late for the Welcome Back party, but couldn't do anything about it. His shop was holding him back and he couldn't leave early, since he was finishing off a new batch of goods and it required his presence at all times until he finished. It had been a long time since he last saw his brother Ronald and the great Harry Potter, and George realised that he was looking forward to seeing them after so long.
Finally, George was done with his last batch of his latest good and apparated to his flat to get cleaned up. His mother, Molly Weasley would not be pleased at his lateness, but George knew the prefect ways to get her back on his good side. He always did, ever since he was a little child and the same went for Fred. George let out a sad smile at the thought of his twin, Fred, whom he lost all those years ago in the Final Battle.
Alas, today wasn't the day for mourning and so George finished cleaning up, making sure he looked good enough for his mother, before apparating.
The first thing that George noticed was the tense atmosphere in the place. "Woah, who's going to light a match so this place explodes? What's with the tense air?" George tried to lighten up the situation and went around to everybody to greet them.
"Mum, the food smells great." George smile warmly at her mother, but more so at the food she was cooking up. Even if Ronnikens was the pig eater of the family, that didn't stop George from enjoying Molly Weasley's food. "Where's everyone else?" When Molly answered, George hugged his mother before going in search of the others; which wasn't so hard. "Gin-bug, you look gorgeous as always. Trying to please someone, sister dear?" George winked at Ginny, who looked like she was trying to impress someone, which George hoped was Harry. Those two were destined to be together; pity it took Ron and Hermione so long to notice that too.
Looking around, he saw more people and greeted them. "Remus, Tonks, Teddy mate. How are you all? Teddy, you're growing up fast, eh?" Grinning, George looked around more and saw Hermione's boyfriend, Victor. George never really liked Victor much and always thought that Ron was a git for leaving Hermione. Everybody in Hogwarts, knew they were meant to be together; only Hermione and Ron were too blind to see it for seven years. George greeted George with a slight annoyance to his voice, wishing he bought his new product to test it on him. Now he knew the reason why the air was so tense.
Rather than staying where he was, Georgey went to find Harry and Ron. On his way, he saw that Ronald was outside with Hermione and George grinned. Ahh, the old days are back at last. Too bad Fred's not here to see this. George blinked at the thought of Fred, but tried not to think about his brother. Today is a happy day, not sad. George soon found Harry talking to his father and greeted the younger boy with much enthusiasm.
"Harry, m'boy. So nice to see you back mate. Did you send Ron out to his death or what?" George grinned at Harry, as he pulled the younger Gryffindor alumni into a hug.

Hermione opened her mouth to retort something everytime but he kept going. He didn't seem to miss a beat and he struck a chord. He was right and she hated to admit but this was a fight that she simple couldn't win. She was angry and the tears were already welling up in her eyes. She was about to crack and all her emotions were going to spill out. She refused to let Ron know how she felt though. It was bad enough that she had dumped all her emotions on Ginny that one afternoon.
But then he mentioned other woman. This threw Hermione in an outrage. "Then why didn't you, Ron? Why didn't you go out with all those pretty, shallow witches? You are single, you know?" she asked angrily, pushing back the tears that had been threatening to spill from the beginning. She wouldn't cry in front of him this time. "YOU left me, Ron. YOU caused all of this. I would have waited Ronald but you ended it and all I could think about was trying to move on. It was apparent that you didn't love me anymore and you found the easy way out by telling me to not wait for you while you went off to auror training."
The tears were spilling now and she couldn't get them to stop. She hadn't wanted to cry but he had to bring up other girls. She just couldn't stand being around him anymore. Just seeing him killed her inside. So here she was still standing there, gaping at him like a stupid idiot. She couldn't get anything out and she had finally given up. There was no point to continuing this argument. She had lost and she knew that Ron was right. Maybe she should have waited but then he had told her not to. Hermione had been so sure that he didn't love her anymore.
Instead she did the most reasonable thing that was in her head at the moment. She pushed Ron away. She pushed him as hard as she could so she could go inside and grab her purse and leave. She couldn't stay here any longer. Not with him here. She would apologize later to Viktor and the Weasley's for leaving so suddenly. She was sure that they would understand since she was entering with tears in her eyes.
She pushed open the door, tears streaming down her face. She couldn't recognize anyone as she grabbed her purse and headed right back out the door. She muttered an incoherent goodbye to everyone as she pushed by Ron again. She apparated away to her flat where she had been living for the past 3 years. Some of Ron's stuff was there which he could pick up later. Maybe when she felt better which would be never. She would just ask Ginny or Harry to drop them off for her since she didn't want to see him at all.

Viktor was getting utterly irritated between both Ron and Harry's poor attempts at making him leave. One shove and he could probably snap the two of them in half, but for Hermione's sake he remained glued to his spot. If anything drastic were to happen, her best friend or not, he would take action. The supposed Ron Weasley that Hermione had once loved had left her brokenhearted, and Viktor was about to do anything to see that she would not be harmed ever again.
But as Ron kept blabbering on, Viktor began to lose his temper, yet again, He could feel his fists clenching around the cup within his cast-iron grip; the sound of his name uttered throughout the crowd. He was famous, naturally...but here his name meant thousands of other things. Things in which he failed to savor, especially when the mentionables were in the favor of Ronald Weasley. Not that the boy was all that bad, but his sheer stupidity to leave such a girl as Hermione proved that he was unworthy to be with her, even in presence.
Viktor could barely remain within his secluded spot once Ron had entered the kitchen with Hermione. He obviously could not take a hint, Viktor noted, and almost released a chuckle as he thought of such. His dark eyes wandered to the door, and anxiously anticipated for the yelling to begin, signaling his que to enter and beat the hell out of Ron for so much as laying a finger upon his girlfriend. Finally, a high-pitched voice rang out, and he immediately awaited Hermione's flight, in which his eager arms would await. Hermione could handle herself to a certain point, and past that point Viktor came into play.
As far as protection went, once all was said and done Ron would be severely sorry he had ever contained any sort of feelings for that of Hermione Granger, or that his resentful and jealous anger had damaged her gentle spirits. Viktor Krum waited patiently outside the door, and nodded once Hermione finally protruded from it, a single arm wrapped around her waist, ferocious eyes glaring at that of Ron, if he happened to come out and face him. His dark eyes softened as they met hers, and he nodded. "'Vould you 'vike me to take you home?" he asked, his voice dropping softly.

Hermione had been stopped from leaving as she stormed inside. She felt an arm snake around her as she leaned into the figure. She felt some sort of security with him as she looked up to meet Viktor's dark eyes. They weren't cold but warm and soft. She hadn't even seen him glaring at Ron. She was still crying as she tried to stop. She hated crying in public and she was in front of a crowd of people that she knew. It only made it worse.
"I'll be fine, Viktor," she whispered softly, glancing over to where Ron was. She turned back to him and gave a light peck on Viktor's cheek as she stood on her tiptoes to reach. She could feel his stubble as she finally pulled away. "I'll see tomorrow. Lunch?" She just wanted to get home and cry herself to sleep. Why did Ron have to come back and ruin everything? Why couldn't he stay at the auror academy?
She gave him awatery smile as she pushed by Ron once more and headed past the barrier. She wasn't going to use Floo but apparate. As soon as she got past that stupid barrier, she would be gone and away from Ron. She would be away from it all for a little while and then she would have to go to work tomorrow. She had to work on that bill so she cold get it passed.
Hermione didn't care what she was leaving behind. No matter how much she still loved him, she couldn't let herself get hurt again. But she didn't want to hurt Ron either. Her emotions were all haywire at the moment. It was too hard to explain and she was practically kicking herself for letting down her barriers for a quick moment. It made her weak and she swore to herself that she wouldn't be weak. She had finally lost a fight to Ronald Weasley, something that she believed would never happen.

Harry walked out of the kitchen and had wrapped his arm around Ginny. He smiled at her but it quickly faded when he heard yelling outside. He glanced at the door that still hadn't opened yet. He gulped a bit, hoping that Hermione hadn't killed Ron yet. He smiled at the sight of George and suppressed a laugh. "All they need is a little push," he said but quickly regretted that. He clamped his mouth shut as he stole glance over to Viktor. It looked like he hadn't heard him but it was all forgotten when the front door flew open.
Just as he thought, it was Hermione and she was in tears. She was trying to leave and Harry could see that. Viktor had stopped her though but she politely brushed him off. He gave Ron a questiong look that was silently asking 'what the hell did you do?' Maybe he shouldn't have sent Ron and Hermione out there alone. He shouldn't get mixed up in all of it and let them fix it themselves. But Harry knew his friends better than that and he knew that they would need an extra push to actually get them together. Only one person was standing in the way and it was Viktor Krum.
Personally, Harry had nothing against the quidditch player. He was actually a nice guy and a great wizard. If he didn't back up Ron and Hermione, he was sure that they could be great friends. Unfortunately, Harry thought that Ron and Hermione should be together while Viktor thought differently. And he knew that Viktor was the jealous type too along with him and Ron. Harry could get extremely jealous.
He sighed as Hermione made her way out the front door. Then he heard a crash of lightning and thunder. He could the hear the patter of raindrops hitting the roof and he knew that Hermione probably hadn't reached the barrier yet. And she was an emotional wreck and it could be dangerous for her to apparate. He knew what he needed to do. He kissed Ginny on the cheek once more and said,"I'll be right. I'm going to check on her."
He went out the door, shooting a warning look at Ron to not start anything while he was gone. He didn't want to come back and hear that there was a fight. He wouldn't be too happy. He finally caught up with Hermione and offered to take her home. He told her that she wasn't fit to apparate with all those emotions. She just nodded and agreed. He walked along with her in silence, hoping on merlin's beard that no fighting had broke out. It would only upset Hermione more if she learned that Ron and Viktor were fighting over her.

Ginny smiled as Harry put his arm around her. She loved the feel of his arms or hands on her. It made her feel loved. He always made her feel loved. She looked to her dad who had a big grin on his face. " Something you'd like to share with the rest of us, hm?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. her father was a happy man but never this happy unless something was up. Her father shook his head. " No nothing" he said and Ginny looked to Harry and shrugged. " Who knows" she said laughing.
Just then she heard the yelling outside. She wished they would both just gett over themselves and on wwith it already. She hated knowing that it was just a miscommunication and stubborness that kept them apart. They loved each other. Why couldn't they just see that? She watched the door to see if she could see anything but alas she couldn't.
Her heart went out to Hermione as she saw her with tears in her eyes storming into the house. Behind her was Ron who pushed threw everyone. "I'm going"he called to them and Ginny's mouth dropped. He left before Hermione could because Vicktor had stopped her. Molly didn't even have a chance to retort.
" Yo..you... ca..can't Ronald!" Ginny cried to him. Why was this all going to crap. Oh he would certainly hear from her tonight when she got home. And Harry shouldn't even try to stop her. He should know better by now.
Ginny nodded to Harry. " Go on I'll see if I can get Ron to come back" she said with a shrug. She looked to her mum and smiled. " I'll be back and lets see if I can get him to come back as well" she said with a hopeful look. This is what she hated about Hermione. She knew her brother sttill loved her but all he could do is talk and knowhing hermione she said something to hurt his ego and he went with it. Didn't she know Ron by now? Maybe it would be better if Ron went on his own with someone new.

Harry had seen Ron leave and he heard Ginny say she was going after him. Where did everything go wrong? Maybe he should have left the two to fix things on their own or let them be. He gulped as he thought about them maybe being better if they were not together. It was a scary and sad thought. Maybe all of them had been wrong. Maybe Ron and Hermione weren't meant to be together and all of Hogwarts was wrong. They seemed so perfect for each other but it seemed that it couldn't work.
They seemingly couldn't work at their own problems right now and he couldn't imagine if they were married. He sighed, hoping that he was wrong. He really didn't want to be wrong but maybe he actually was. There was too many 'maybes' and he hated it. This wasn't what he was expecting for his welcome back party. He had expected a very warm welcome and lots of festivity. But it seemed that he had gotten a different surprise.
He apparated Hermione home, giving her a quick hug. "I'll talk to you tomorrow. Okay Hermione?" he said, giving her a reassuring smile. He wanted to talk to her, not just about Ron but what she had been doing for the past few years. He hadn't seen her for a while and she was his best friend. They needed to catch up. She just nodded at him and walked off toward her room. Harry watched her go before apparating back at the Burrow.
His hair and body was drenched in water after coming back. He hadn't even thought of a spell to put on while he walked with Hermione in the pouring rain. He gave everyone a weak smile as he noticed that Ginny wasn't back yet. He sighed as he plopped himself on the couch. What a night! he thought. He would wait til Ginny came back and maybe they would call it a night. They could head back to Grimmauld's Place and go to sleep. He wondered if Ron would be there already.

Ginny watched as harry left to go after hermione. She really wished that she would be alright. She worried about her alot. Ron was her brother but Hermione was her best friend. Outside of Ron and Harry that was. But it was different with them. Hermione was the only one that GInny could go to , to talk to Harry abut.
She wasted no time getting to her and harry's house, but she couldn't find Ron anywhere. She looked all over the house calling his name. " Ron! Ronald Weasley!" she called all over but it was a loss. He wasn't anywhere to be found. Where on earth could he be?
She flooed back to the burrow to find Harry on the couch. She collapsed on the other side of him. " Ron wasn't home" she said sadly. She dind't know what else to say. He wasnt' there and she had no idea where he could be. " Where could he be?" she mused.
She shouldn't worry abut him and she knewe that. He was a grown man who got himself in this mess and he would just have to get himself out of it. She laid her head on Harry's shoulder and cuddled up next to him. " Hows Hermione?" she asked him.
Then she leaned up and kissed him on the lips. " Can we go home?" she asked. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close to her. " Maybe take a nice long bath together before we go to bed?" she asked him. They had gotten into the habbit of taking baths together but clothed in their bathing suits. A bit naive but she didn't want him to see her body until after they were married.

Harry was quite relieve that Ginny was back. He sighed as she cuddled up to him. He was drifting off into a dreamlike state. Soon she would be Mrs. Potter he kept telling himself. "She'll be fine," he said, giving Ginny a reassuring smile. "I think she needs some time to cool off by herself but I'm sure that she'll be alright." Harry was more afraid for Ron. He could be a bit irrational at times even as an adult.
"Well hopefully your brother comes home soon," he yawned, noticing how tired he was. He nodded as she said that she wanted to go home. He kissed her back, smiling a little. At least one good thing came out of this evening, he thought. He had complete permssion from Mr. Weasley to marry Ginny.
"A nice bath sounds good right about now," he smiled, picking her up. "We're out Mr. and Mrs. Weasley! Thanks for everything!" He smiled at the Lupin family. He rustled Teddy's hair and said goodbye. He apparated into Grimmauld's Place, still carrying Ginny. They were back at home where there was nothing but peace and quiet. He couldn't wait to relax with Ginny in a tub then finally get some rest. He would have to go to work soon and he was actually looking forward to it.

Fleur hummed as she entered the house. She had just came from France. After the war and everything had settled down, Fleur wanted to visit her homeland. Bill had said she would take a few weeks off from summer. Fleur had stayed in France a little longer than needed. But she needed the visit. She felt calm as she hanged up her travling cloak. Hearing voices she entered the living room. What is going on? she thought. "'ello?" she called. Fleur was very confused. Something major had went on. She wandered what it could have been? She shrugged, deciding not to intervene. Feeling a little lost she went into the kitchen for a snack. Fleur smiled as she twirled around the kitchen. It felt good to know her family was doing all right. And that Gabrielle was safe from harm. A grin spread across her face. While there she saw the boy who had decided to kidnapped Gabrielle. The pair of them dueled for old-times sake. The event would explain the long scar on her arm. But it was already three weeks old anyways. What harm could it do?
