Hermione was sitting in her living room, curled up in a chair, reading a book. She loved to read and it was something that she found comfort in. It was one of the few things she found comfort in. She sighed, turning a page. She was trying to focus on the book that she had been reading for an hour. She wondered how long she would go on like this. She couldn't read forever to forget about that night. And eventually it would come back to haunt her and she might ahve to talk about it. Something she wasn't looking forward to do.
Finally giving up, she slammed the book shut and got up. She was hungry and noticed that it was almost dinner time. She grabbed her wand and gave it a little wave. A frozen pizza from the fridge immediately popped itself into the oven. She couldn't wait til it was done. She hadn't realized how hungry she was until now. At least food might help her get her mind off of Ron. She really didn't want to think about him right now. She could appropiately congratulate Harry later since she didn't get the chance. She was sent outside to talk to Ron which turned into a disaster. She didn't blame Harry though.
Two more minutes for the pizza, she thought and then she would clean up a bit. That would be good. Cleaning might help since sleep wasn't working. She only dreamed about him and she hated having to go to sleep. It seemed to only bring her closer to him. And all his stuff lied in her room since she didn't want to take it out or go through it. She just couldn't do it and was planning to call Harry or Ginny to take it for her. She had heard that Ron was living with them temperarily.
Her oven beeped as the doorbell rang. She wondered who could it be. She pulled out the pizza, making it cut itself into little slices. She yelled out,"I'll be right there!" She straightened herself up before opening the door. She stood frozen there as she saw who it was . What was he doing here especially at dinner time? Wasn't food was one of his priorities at the moment? Well it was nice attempt to try and forget about him.

Ron knew that it was a hassle for his sister and Harry for him to be there. He hated the thought of not being on his own. Heck, even his sister didn't have to live with someone else. She lived with harry because thats where she was going to be for the rest of her life. He sat in his room or rather the room in Harry's house that he was currently occupying and looked over the newspaper. Anything for a flat to rent was good.
He had decided that he was going to get out of Harry and his sister's way. Maybe that way he wouldn't have to run into hermione. The last time he saw her didn't go all that well. What was he kidding it went horrid. He hadn't been eating much which was a big thing for him seeing that he was a wizard with the most horrible eating habits. He ate everything and anything he could get his hands on. He heard a muggle make a joke once. I'm on a diet. A Seafood diet. I see food, I eat it Ever since then he had lived his life to that motto.
He finally found one in the paper and muttered to himself. " Blimey! Thats perfect!" he said and scratched down on some parchment before sending it off with his new owl towards the owner of the flat. He began daydreaming about his new place then about Hermione. It was no use it always led back to her. He really should move on, she had. Then the owl came back with a response. All he had to do was go and look at the flat. With a little luck he would have a new apartment tonight. He grabbed his jacket and called to Harry and GInny. " I'm going out guys" he said simply and apparated to the place of the flat. It was gorgeous.
He met with the owner after taking a tour. The only downfall was that it was in Hermione's neighborhood. With any luck he could avoid her. She didn't have to know a thing. The owner knew who he was and let him sign right on the spot. He shook his hand and the owner gave him the keys. " Thanks alot mate" he said happily and went into his new apartment. Surer it was bare now but given time it would be great.
He walked outside and decided that he was going to brave it and get his things from Hermione. He was greeted along the way by his old neighbors happily. Everyone stopping to shake his hand and welcome him back to the neighborhood. Finally he made it to her door and rang the bell. She opened the door and he ran his hand through his shaggy hair. " I .. umm... I came for my things. I'll be needing them for my new place" he said with a shrug. It would be quick in and out. Or at least he hoped and then he would go to the furnature store for the rest of his things.

Hermione was having a hard time coprehending that it was Ron who was standing outside her door. She stood there staring at him for a few minutes before finally realizng that she needed to move and let him in. He had come to get his stuff. She wished that she had owled Ginny and Harry earlier so she wouldn't have to deal with him. She had been trying to avoid him ever since that night. And now he was showing up at her doorstep.
"Oh," was all she said as she moved out of the way to let him in. "They're down the hall in my room on the right." She pointed down the hallway where her bedroom was. She hoped that he would be quick. She headed toward the kitchen, not wanting to talk to him when she suddenly stopped. Did he just say new place? Wasn't he suppose to be staying at Harry and Ginny's? She gulped, praying that he didn't live anywhere near her.
She turned back to him, asking,"Where's your new place?" She didn't want to know so she could visit him but to know how close he was to her. Okay fine so she did want to know where he lived just in case they ever made up. She really wished that they could go back to being friends. Even if that wasn't what Hermione really wanted, it was what she as going to have to deal with.
Before she could stop herself she offered,"If you need any help getting settle, I'm open." She kicked herself mentally for opening up her big mouth. Why couldn't she just keep her trap shut for once? She hated herself for trying to find a reason to spend more time with him even though she had a boyfriend who loved her. The problem was that the love was only one way. She could never love Viktor the way she loved Ron.
The smell of pizza wafted into the hallway where they stood and she remembered her pizza that was done. Her stomach growled as she remembered her hunger. Why was she suddenly being so civil with him right now? Didn't they just have an argument just a couple days ago? She waved her wand as a plate with two slices on it came flying into her hand. "Like some?" she asked, offering him the plate.

Ron ran his hand through his shaggy hair again. He felt horrid standing on her doorstep. He use to be able to walk into that flat without having to knock. It was mostly because he had lived there too but not anymore. Not since he messed everything up. He just had to go and wreck the entire lot didn’t he? Of course he did. He was Ron Weasley and nothing went right for him. And what did he ruined. Was life ever easy?
He stood there watching her. “ Err, sorry I came over without owling but I was in the err neighborhood” he said with a shrug. He nodded. “ Thanks” he said watching her. He didn’t need her to tell him where her bedroom was he had been there before. Not to say that they ever shagged he respected her too much for that. More than what Viky did. But he had spent a few nights in her bed.
He trudged into her house and towards her bedroom to collect his things. Then she asked the one question he wished that she didn’t. “ Err, umm.” he started and nodded. “ Yeah just down the way a bit. Jones’ old place” he said with a shrug. “ I hope its not a problem I mean I can’t live with Harry and Ginny much longer their mushy kisses all the time make me think of….” he stopped. They made him think of Hermione and everything he lost. He looked out into space for a moment. “ They just make me sick is all” he said with a shrug. “ And it was the best place I could ask for” he added quickly.
“Actually I was going to go and get some furnature after I got my stuff you wanna come?” he offered. “ Er I’m not very good with that decorating stuff and I know you are so umm maybe you could help?” he asked nervously. Almost as nervously as the first time he asked her out. Honestly he just wanted to be around her. At least they were talking now and not yelling. He had saved all his money from the jobs he worked during his training and his summers since graduation. Along with his sign on bonus with the ministry.
His stomach growled along with her and laughed. “ If I’m not imposing?” he said quietly. “ I know you can’t stand to be around me, so if you don’t want me to I’ll just get my things and get out of your way” he added solemnly.

Hermione felt her heart leap when he said that he lived by Jones' old place. That meant he wasn't so far away from her. She didn't know why but she felt much safer than she did in a long time with him near her. She listened to his reason of why he was moving. He was about to say something but changed his mind. She wondered what but just shook it off. It had nothing to do with what they use to be. "It's no problem, Ron," she told him. "I can't tell you where to live or not, no matter how close or far away it is from me." She would just have to deal with it even though she did lke the idea of him being closer.
Hermione hid her excitement as he asked if she wanted to come along. She was willing to help and she got to decorate a house in the process. And she also got to spend more time with Ron. What more could she ask for? Well...there could be a few more things but now wasn't the time to go there. They were just friends and nothing more. She just had to get over that and then everything would be fine.
"Sure," she shrugged. "It's what friends are for." She slightly winced at them being just friends. Why did she have to be so stubborn? She just couldn't listen to her heart for one moment. She was back at Hogwarts again, arguing with her mind. He doesn't like you like that anymore. We're only just friendss, she kept telling herself. "We can go as soon as you get some pizza though."
She handed him a plate, grinning at him. She had heard his stomach growl and could tell that he was hungry. She put her hands on her hips and gave him a fake stern look. "I wouldn't offer you food if I didn't want you here, Ronald," she told him, accioing over another plate of pizza for her. "Want anything to drink?" she asked him. "I have butterbeer, soda, and firewhiskey." Hermione wondered if Ron would even know what soda was. It was a muggle drink and he didn't seem to know much about muggle items.
"After we're done here, we can move all your stuff to your place and then go get the furniture," she planned out loud. She liked to have some order before going off to do something. She didn't plan to tell Viktor about this though. It was something he didn't need to know. Hermione knew that she shouldn't be hiding things from her boyfriend but if he found out about this, he would throw a fit and might try to kill Ron. She wouldnt' allow that to happen.
