Viktor had a bit of trouble setting the table, but eventually he decided upon a simpler setting of a few candles and the appropriate diningware necessary for a dinner to take place. Hermione was to be there at any given moment, and Krum found himself being as nervous as he had when she had first came to his home. He wasn't overly nervous around Hermione in general, it was his cooking that he was worried about. Quidditch players weren't exactly inclined to be the masters of the culinary arts.
The table was set, the food was nearly finished, and Hermione was due to arrive shortly. Now all that was left to do was wait, which appeared to be easier said than done. As the food finished cooking, Krum stepped outside for a bit of fresh air, feeling the crisp near-autumn air whip past his face. It was to be expected that a rather robust man such as himself would get rather steamed in such humid weather, and as so Viktor found himself soon retreating back into the comfort of his home.
Hermione still hadn't arrived yet, and with another sigh he retreated into the kitchen and checked upon the food, now having no such house elves to do it themselves. He had released his elves, both as a reminder of his support to Hermione but also to gain some self-preservation points for himself. He had never actually had to clean or cook for himself, so naturally it would be just as much of a shock to himself as it would to anyone that he had taken such a large leap towards what many would have considered 'maturity'. This 'maturity', however, was proving to be more of a hassle than it was an improvement.
Viktor leaned back against the counter, checking the time as his memory flashed back to the day at the burrow. He had went for the sake of Hermione, not only because he felt that it was his duty to be there for her at all times, but also because that treacherous git Ron was due to be there, and Viktor refused to trust him alone with Hermione.
It had been enough that he had broken her heart, but screaming at her had been another, and now Ron was irrefutably placed upon Viktor Krum's bad side, in which he would be lucky to ever be removed from. Unable to do anything but offer his support, though, Viktor proved to be at a disadvantage. Injury of Ronald Weasley would only damage Hermione's spirits that much more, and that was something Viktor quite simply refused to do.
